Environmental Contaminants & Environmental Justice in RI
Please welcome speaker Dr. Agnes B. Kane, Professor of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, as she presents "Environmental Contaminants & Environmental Justice in RI".
RI has a long history of industrial activity resulting in numerous Brownfields and 12 highly contaminated sites on the Superfund National Priorities List. The Brown University Superfund Research Program (SRP) is an academic-government-community partnership using basic research, technology development, and stakeholder engagement to resolve complex issues of exposure to local environmental contaminants, including health inequalities and environmental justice.
This event is sponsored by the Department of Science & Technology and the College of Arts & Sciences.
