About this Event

This simulated class taught by Professor Gorvett of the Mathematics Department will be a survey of several real-life situations and the right way to estimate their likelihoods. Examples include the risk of planes being shot down in World War II, the Shuttle Challenger launch disaster, and falling space station debris.
