2025 Theme: The Future of Growth: Creating Pathways that Strengthen All Communities

DOU is an annual, university-wide event hosted by the Office of Community & Belonging, in collaboration with campus departments and partners, to strengthen our shared sense of connection and purpose.

This day-long experience offers a variety of programs, workshops, and spaces for meaningful dialogue, reflection, and learning. Through these experiences, we explore topics that shape our communities, such as identity, access, opportunity, and shared responsibility, while building relationships that support a more connected, inclusive, and resilient campus community.

Call For Volunteers

We're looking for volunteers! All members of the community are welcome. Help is needed during the day of the event to assist in a variety of capacities. You can let us know the preferred shifts that you are available to support this annual community event.

How to Get Involved

• Faculty are encouraged to incorporate the event into class activities, whether by attending sessions as a class, assigning participation, or facilitating related discussions and assignments.
• The Office of Community and Belonging invites Bryant faculty, staff, students, and community members to submit proposals for sessions such as workshops, panels, discussions, or interactive presentations.
• Possible topics include, but are not limited to: fair wages and job security, sustainable business practices, economic opportunity, worker rights and labor policies, community entrepreneurship, the impact of technology and automation on work, and lessons from history that help us understand how past economic policies shape today’s communities.

This year’s theme aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:

• Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
• Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
• Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities
• Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
