About this Event

The Amica Center for Career Education is sponsoring an “EXPLORE DC" trip over Spring Break 2025. The Center is still finalizing the itinerary for the trip, which will depend partly on the range of career interests of applicants, but planned activities include:

  • Meeting US Senator Jack Reed and Representative Gabe Amo and their office staff
  • Networking opportunities with alumni who work in a variety of fields in the DC area (ranging from government and law to private sector)
  • Touring major sites like the US Capitol, National Archives, and museums
  • Visiting government organizations like the Department of State, FDIC, and FBI

Subject to flight schedules, this trip will commence on the morning of Saturday, 3/8, and will conclude on the evening of Thursday, 3/13. Students can return to on-campus housing upon arrival back in Rhode Island. There are limited spots for this trip and preference will be given to those that apply early. Professors Tristan Hightower and Mary Anne Clarke will review the applications and the essays.

Please note that there is a $300 deposit due after acceptance (late December). That fee covers travel to/from DC (i.e., flights), a hotel in downtown DC, dinners while on the trip, transit in DC, and any site visits/admissions fees. Students are responsible for breakfast and lunch and any spending money they want to bring.

The application deadline for this trip is Tuesday, 12/10/24, at noon and can be accessed here.   Applications should be submitted directly to Professor Hightower at thightower@bryant.edu.
