We originally planned this Lunch & Learn for Black History Month, and while we had to postpone, we’re using this moment to honor both Black History Month and Women’s History Month together.

Join us as we celebrate two outstanding women of Bryant — Danielle Macon and Jocelyn Bell — and explore the cultural origins of “playing the dozens.” From rap battles to “yo mama” jokes, the fusion of wit, wordplay, and playful roasting has long been a storytelling tradition in the African diaspora, rooted in bonding, resilience, and social commentary.

Eat, learn, and celebrate Black history and women’s voices in one meaningful conversation.
