The Peace Paper Project will be hosting a week-long residency in the rotunda from October 17-October 21. Peace Paper Project is an international community-arts group that has worked closely with veterans’ organizations and refugee communities across the globe. Peace Paper Project uses hand papermaking to engage with community activism; to provide a forum for talking about service, trauma, and community connections; and to create beautiful pieces of art that reflect these conversations.
The focus of their residency at Bryant will be “Fibers of Service.” Uniforms, scrubs, and other fibers will be broken down to produce sheets of paper that are used for expression about service and community.
Classes are invited to come to the rotunda to meet with Drew Mattot, the founder of Peace Paper Project, to learn about their work, to make paper, and to understand the role of socially engaged art forms in making meaningful change in the world.
