DESCRIPTION:Navigating Workplace Conflict\n\n \n\nOverall Goal: Participant
 s will build on knowledge around individual conflict style\, conflict theo
 ry and positive communication to practice strategies of effective conflict
  resolution in the workplace.\n\nLearning Objectives\n\n1. Assess and unde
 rstand individual default conflict management style and the impact on comm
 unication.\n\n2. Learn basic conflict theory including positions versus ne
 eds and interests.\n\n3. Gain understanding about the benefits of effectiv
 e communication and moving through conflict to build positive relationship
 s and create change.\n\n4. Assess and understand levels and nuances of wor
 kplace conflict.\n\n5. Assess and understand the role of a neutral mediato
 r and when a third-party intervention is appropriate.\n\n6. Learn steps fo
 r engaging in challenging conversations: between team members\, with an in
 ternal third party\, with a neutral external third party.\n\n7. Practice i
 dentifying the business problem \n\n A fee of $90.00 per participant will 
 be billed to each institution\, which includes parking and continental bre
 akfast.\n\nParking will be provided on campus. We ask that participants fo
 llow specific parking instructions which will be emailed to all registered
  participants before the event. If you would like information on accessibl

 ou can no longer attend\, we always suggest that you first try to find som
 eone else from your institution who can attend in your place. We are able 
 to issue refunds for cancellations made prior to 15 days from the event da
 te. Cancellations made less than 15 days from the event date cannot be ref
 unded and your institution will be charged for your ticket whether you att
 end or not. You may transfer your ticket to someone else at your instituti
 on at any time\, but please let us know if you do. Contact your Human Reso
