As individuals progress through their careers, many employees aspire to move from individual contributor roles to management positions. This workshop will explore and help participants identify expectations and challenges associated with the transition into a management position, along with potential action steps to effectively deal with those challenges. The focus of the session will be on those situations where the new manager is supervising former peers.
The workshop will address a variety of topics related to the transition to management, including:
Participants will discuss hypothetical scenarios and actual situations they may have experienced regarding this transition. As a byproduct of those discussions,participants will have increased awareness of the issues they may encounter in moving into a management position and how to effectively address the challenges that may arise when managing former peers.
