Visiting Writers Series: Reading with Geffrey Davis
This evening, poet Geffrey Davis will read from his new book, Night Angler (2019), as well as any newer work. Davis' writing focuses on fatherhood, trauma, memory, and Black Lives Matter issues. Poet Terrance Hayes says Davis "transforms our contemporary modes of love, violence and history." Arkansas International also said that "Davis's narrative poems comment on the mistreatment, the wonder, and the hope surrounding black lives, not only in the south, but in America as a whole."
