Visiting Writers Series: Writing Workshop with Geffrey Davis
Join poet, Geffrey Davis, for an afternoon writing workshop on a writer's voice. Where does a writer’s voice originate? How does a writer establish a voice that is unmistakably their own? Can changing our voices change our hearts? With these and other creative questions in mind, we will work through poetic examples that offer some traction on understanding the wild fluidity of a writer’s voice. In particular, we will try to ground our understanding according to notions of intervention and integrity. This talk should give participants at any level and of any genre permission to craft careful considerations of the ways a writer might fasten a voice to the page.
